15th PANAMA

Placement:
MI 2011 4th RU - Keity Mendieta

About Keity Mendieta:
She is a model of US ancestry, her father is from USA and her mother is of Panamanian/Indian ancestry. Her modeling career started when she won the "Chica Chico Modelo" contest in 2008, which gave her the chance to work for Physical Modelos. She represented Panamá in the 2011 Miss International pageant held in China.

14th PARAGUAY

MI 2012 4th RU - Nicole Huber

About Nicole Huber:
A beauty pageant veteran; she first competed in Miss World 2011 in London, where she finished as Top 31 qualifiers. Later, she represented her country at Miss Earth 2011 after the original representative couldn't make it; and she finished in Top 16. Finally, she participated in Miss International 2012 in Okinawa, and ended up as 4th Runner-up.

13th DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

MI 2012 3rd RU - Melody Mir

About Melody Mir:
She is by far the best placing delegate from Dominican Republic in Miss International and the rest of the Big 4 pageants in the 2010s. Her placement is Americas' best in the edition won by Japan's Ikumi Yoshimatsu. In 2013, she joined the search for her country's representative to Miss Universe but failed to win the national title.

12th PUERTO RICO

About Desiree Del Rio:
After her stint in a minor international pageant, she tried her luck to grab the Miss International crown. She however managed to earn the fourth spot only and with Ecuador's Fernanda Cornejo winning the competition. Noteworthy in the 2011 edition of the pageant is that four out of five finalists were from the Americas.

11th CHINA

MI 2010 2nd RU - Yuan Siyi

About Yuan Siyi:
China's hosting of the pageant has given her the advantage of being among the delegates to watch out for during the competition. Her 2nd Runner-up finish is her country's best placement since China's debut in the pageant in 2002. This is also China's second highest achievement in the Big 4 pageants after its two wins in Miss World.

10th MONGOLIA

MI 2011 2nd RU - Tugsuu Idersaikhan

About Tugsuu Idersaikhan:
Her 3rd place finish is Mongolia's best ever placement since its participation in all of the Big 4 pageants. With the contestants from the Americas dominating the finalists of Miss International that year, her presence was shocking to the pageant fans. She fought well and was Asia's torch bearer during the finals night held in Chengdu, China.

9th SRI LANKA

MI 2012 2nd RU - Madusha Mayadunne

About Madusha Mayadunne:
Her exemplary performance has put her country back in the beauty map. This is Sri Lanka's best achievement in the Big 4 since Maureen Neliya Hingert finished as 2nd Runner-up in Miss Universe 1955 (Sri Lanka's first and only placement). The island country was still known as Ceylon, which debuted in Miss Universe that year.

8th NEW ZEALAND

MU 2013 2nd RU - Casey Radley

About Casey Radley:
She is the second best placing delegate from New Zealand in the pageant. She formerly joined her country's national search for Miss World but missed the crown. The country has previously won the Miss International crown in an event held in USA. In 1971, Jane Cheryl Hansen won the competition from among 50 entrants all over the globe.

7th FINLAND

Placement:
MI 2012 1st RU - Viivi Suominen

About Viivi Suominen:
Her win is the next best finish for Finland in the Miss International pageant. She competed with other 68 beautiful contestants in the 2012 edition won by Japan. She placed the highest among the European delegates. Finland already had a crown in the pageant through Anneli Björkling who won the contest in 1973 held in Osaka, Japan.

6th NETHERLANDS

About Nathalie den Dekker:
Her interests include reading, spending time with friends and family, and swimming. She describes herself as a confident person who is hard-working, friendly and committed. Before competing in Miss International 2013, she represented the Netherlands at Miss World and Miss Universe 2012. She placed in the Top 15 in Miss World.

5th THAILAND

About Piyaporn Deejing:
She joined the Miss Thailand Universe 2008; she won first runner-up and was also crowned Miss Thailand Earth. She ended as one of the top 16 semifinalists of Miss Earth. She later joined Miss International. Thailand has never won the Miss International crown and she could have been the first if she just placed one notch higher.

4th ECUADOR

About Fernanda Cornejo:
She is one of the most requested models in her country. She enjoys singing, going to the beach, playing basketball and doing pilates. She is the first woman from Ecuador to win a major beauty pageant. After her reign as Miss International 2011, she signed a modelling contract in Elite Model Management in the United States.

About Ikumi Yoshimatsu:
She is an opinion leader, actress, book author and social activist who was crowned Miss International 2012. It was Japan's first Miss International win in the 52 year history of the pageant. She is the third Japanese to win a Big 4 crown. Her win coincides with the win of host nations of Miss Universe and Miss World in 2012.

About Bea Rose Santiago:
She won the event beating 66 other lovely contestants. She is the fifth Filipina to win the title after Gemma Cruz in 1964, Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Melanie Marquez in 1979 and Lara Quigaman in 2005. She was a fashion model for Elite Model Management before joining Binibining Pilipinas. This is the Philippines' 9th Big 4 crown.

About Elizabeth Mosquera:

She appears on television in Venezuela and she works with children, humanitarian and charity of the Cisneros Fundation.
