| According to Miss Venezuela president Osmel Sousa, no transgenders will be allowed in the competition. “The Christian Venezuelan people would never accept the participation of transgenders in the Miss Venezuela contest” said Sousa, during the press conference held in Caracas on April 24th to disclose details about this year’s event. Sousa had been silent over the matter for over a month. But it was during this conference that he finally voiced his opinion.
Sousa, along with Venevision producer Joaquin Riviera confirmed that the Miss Venezuela 2012 competition will take place on August 30th at the Tamanaco Hotel in Caracas.
Leonardo Villalobos and Mariangel Ruiz will be co-hosting the event, with the special participation of Chiquinquira Delgado.
Three people from the audience will participate as judges during the final night. They will be chosen through a competition in Super Sabado Sensacional, where they will try and answer questions about the history of the competitiion.
Journalist Ismael Cala from CNN en Espanol will be in charge of the finalists’ questions during the final gala.
This year there will be 24 contestants who will be presented to the press in late July.
The “Gala de la Belleza” is scheduled to take place on August 4th.
The winners of Miss Venezuela 2012 will compete in Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth 2013. | |

| Good decision by Osmel and transgenders shouldn't be allowed in any pageants for women. Hope that the new batch of winners in Miss Venezuela will be more beautiful than the previous winners. | |
