January 9th: Sofia Baez of Dominican Republic was crowned International Queen of Coffee in Manizales, Colombia.

January 15th: Teresa Scanlan from Nebraska won the Miss America 2011. It was the first time a Miss Nebraska had won the title. This was also the first pageant telecast on ABC since Miss America 2005.

February 27th: Miss Universe 1974, Amparo Muñoz of Spain passed away at the age of 56 from undisclosed causes.

March 11th: Miss Universe Japan 2011 was first scheduled to be held on March 30. However, it was postponed due to the March earthquake and Tsunami in Japan.

May 11th: Mariana Notarangelo of Brazil was crowned Miss Global Beauty Queen 2011 in Seoul, South Korea.

June 19th: Alyssa Campanell from Los Angeles, California was crowned Miss USA 2011 and represented the United States in Miss Universe 2011.

June 30th: The creation of Pageant World Forum now known as Pageantology.


July 23rd: Priscila Machado won the Miss Brazil 2011 title. Machado was booed by the audience at HSBC Brasil. Supporters of other candidates, outraged by the victory of Miss Rio Grande do Sul, shouted insults against the winner, such as "peladona" (naked) and "marmelada" (a term used in Brazilian Portuguese to refer to a situation where someone cheats in a game or vote).

August 26th: Monika Lewczuk of Poland was crowned Miss Supranational 2011 in her hometown in Plock, Poland.

September 12th: The 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola, at the end of this event. Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.

September 28th: Agnieszka Miszkiewicz of Poland was crowned Miss Bikini International 2011 in Quingdao, China.

October 7th: Jessica Hartman of the United States won the Miss Intercontinental 2011 title.

October 10th: Chen Jian Feng of China won the Manhunt International 2011 title in Seoul, South Korea.

October 15th: Miss Asia Pacific World 2011 held in South Korea made headlines because of several controversies. The proclaimed winner Jung Eun A of Korea resigned after some candidates saw the voting sheets and claimed the Korean contestant placed 3rd in reality. She was replaced by 1st runner up Florima Treiber of France.

October 22nd: Claudia Schiess of Ecuador won the Miss Continente Americano 2011 title in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Claudia also participated in Miss Universe 2011 and Miss Supranational 2010.

October 27th: Evalina Van Putten of Curacao was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2011 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Evalina also participated in the Miss Universe 2011.

October 28th: In view of the worsening flood situation Bangkok, Thailand is experiencing, Carousel Productions, Inc. has decided to transfer the venue of Miss Earth 2011 from Bangkok, Thailand to Manila, Philippines.

November 6th: Maria Fernanda Cornejo was crowned Miss International 2011 in Chengdu, China. This is the first ever Grand Slam title for her country.

November 6th: Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela won the Miss World 2011 crown in London, England, U.K. This is the 6th title for Venezuela and the last Venezuelan to win the crown was Jacqueline Aguilera in 1995.

November 26th: Sevcan Yasar of Turkey was crowned Miss Model of the Year 2011 in Shenzhen, China.

December 3rd: Olga Alava of Ecuador won the Miss Earth 2011 title in Manila, Philippines. In less than one month, Ecuador won 2 Grand Slam titles.

December 4th: Inna Hrabouskaya of Belarus won the first ever Miss Yatch Model International 2011 title in Haikou, China.

December 8th: Alisi Rabukawaqa of Fiji was crowned Miss South Pacific 2011 in Apia, Samoa.

December 15th: Siria Yasabel Bojorguez of the United States won the World Miss University 2011 title in Korea.

December 17th: Cesar Curti won the Mister International 2011 title in Bangkok, Thailand

December 17th: Eva Ekvall, Miss Venezuela 2000 and 3rd runner up at Miss Universe 2001 passed away at the age of 28 due to breast cancer.

December 27th: Kantapat Peeradachainarin of Thailand was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International 2011 in Xi'an, China.

December 31st: Aileen Gabriella Robinson of Malaysia won the Miss Tourism International 2011 crown in Malaysia.
